The 75th meeting of the Board of Directors LIEDA
The 75th meeting of the Board of Directors LIEDA was convened on December 30th and 31th, 2010 at Board room of Pearl Continental Karachi, in which various Administrative as well as industrial issues stand resolved. Following are the Major decisions taken in the above board meeting:
- * Approved hiring of civil and electrical consultant for study of water supply and Electric distribution and billing systems of the Authority.
- * Enhanced salary of daily wage employers as per notification of the Government.
- * Approved study for establishment of “Ship Steel & Allied Industrial Park” at Gaddani and “Fish Meal Industrial Estate” at Winder.
- * Approved development of WiFi system in admin building and preparation of software for HR.

Royal Thai Consul General Mr. Udom Spito visited
On the invitation of Nawabzada Siraj Khan Raiesani his Excellency the Royal Thai Consul General Mr. Udom Spito visited LIEDA and Marble city Gaddani on December 23rd, 2010 to see investment Potential in Marble sector in Balochistan.
The Managing Director LIEDA Mr. Shuja-ul-Mulk Gichki presenting the briefing on affairs of the Authority also drawn attention of the counsel general on potential sectors of Balochistan for consideration of investment by prospective investors from his country.
Mr. Udom Spito, visited the Marble processing and Marble Handicraft unit namely M/S Muhammad Dada Mineral and M/S signature stone respectively and shown keen interest of his country for investment Marble sector in Balochistan.

The Council General Mr. Willim J. Martan visited
Future of people of Balochistan enriched with resources is brightened; said US Council General Mr. Willim J. Martin.
The Council General Mr. Willim J. Martan visited LIEDA/Hub on November 23rd, 2010 accompanying with his team comprising of members. The Member Provincial Assembly from Lasbela – I Pir Abdul Qadir Gillani, the Managing Director LIEDA Mr. Shuja –ul- Mulk Gichki and officers of LIEDA welcome him gracefully in LIEDA Rest House. Where he received a detailed briefing about activities of LIEDA and viability of Wind / Solar Power Projects.
Member Provincial Assembly Pir Abdul Qadir Gillani in his opening remarks explained the history resources of District Lasbela, Industrialization and feasibility for setting up Wind / Solar Power Projects. Managing Director LIEDA Mr. Shuja –ul- Mulk Gichki given detailed presentation on the activities of LIEDA and industrialization taken place in District Lasbela Balochistan whereas Mr. Shafi Ahmed Qasmi, Director Marble City, LIEDA on the urge of MPA Mr. Abdul Qadir Gillani explained the viability of wind Power & Solar Project in District Lasbela.
Dr. Aslam, President LCCI also given detailed briefing about the industrializations role of Lasbela Chamber & LIEDA in boosting up industrial activity in the area. He also explained feasibility of Wind Power Projects at Costal Belt Dam.
Mr. Willim J. Martin paid visited Marble City, Gaddani a success story where he also visited a Marble processing unit of M/s Dada Mineral and very much impressed firm the verity of Marble of Balochistan.
Addressing the local print & electronic media the US Council General explained that his Government is interested in investment in Balochistan in Energy Sector and construction of Dams in Balochistan. He also committed to visit the area frequently. He left Marble City for visit of Ship Breaking Yard.

Works Committee Meeting
52nd meeting of Works Committee of LIEDA was convened on September 27th, 2010 in Conference Room LIEDA wherein varies matters pertaining to the industries and the employees of the Authority as well were discussed and resolved.
Posting of Managing Director
Mr. Shuja – ul – Mulk Gichki posted as Managing Director LIEDA through a gazette notification issued by the Government of Balochistan has taken over charge of the post on August 31st, 2010.
He is young and energetic officer and desirous to improve office discipline and services of the Authority upto the satisfaction of Consumers / Industries.
BOD Meeting (Budget Session)
The minutes of the 74th BOD Meeting (Budget Session) convened on 13th & 14th August, 2010 duly approved by the Chairman / Secretary Industries Government of Balochistan have been received and implementation on the decisions has been initiated under the directive of the MD.
